Imaging Services
Our Imaging services provide a wide breadth of state-of-the-art imaging options. Our services include, but are not limited to:
- QCT Bone Density Testing Quantitative Computed Tomography is a fast exam that is widely used and one of three methods cited by the National Osteoporosis Foundation as a safe and effective for the evaluation of Bone Mineral Density. This exam can detect low bone mass in the spine earlier because QCT measures the interior bone, which is affected earlier and to a greater degree.
- Breast Biopsy, Mammography, and Ultrasound Guided
- CT - our CT suite is composed of a GE 64-slice whole-body Computed Tomography system. We perform routine contrast and non-contrast CT exams to include CTA studies (arterial and Pulmonary Embolism exams)
- Low Dose CT Lung Screening (LDCT) testing is scheduled through our centralized scheduling department for Outpatient Imaging. The purpose of this procedure is to catch lung cancer in its earliest stages. Your doctor will discuss the potential benefits of the LDCT screening with you during a “shared decision-making” visit.
- 3D Mammography | Breast Tomosynthesis LRMC has two fully FDA/MQSA, ACR-accredited 3D Hologic Mammography suites. We provide both screening and diagnostic Mammograms performed by an ARRT Mammography registered Technologist. The studies are both supervised and interpreted by a Board Certified Radiologist.
- MR Angiography
- MRI is equipped with a Siemens Espree 1.5 magnet for contrast and non-contrast Imaging. The Espree system includes a wide bore to image all patients, including patients with wide shoulders and claustrophobic patients.
- Needle Biopsy to include Breast and Thyroid biopsies performed by a Board Certified Radiologist and Registered Technologist.
- Nuclear Medicine - our Siemens Nuclear Medicine camera at LRMC is one of the most advanced imaging systems in the southeast, offering cutting-edge technology that enhances diagnostic precision. This state-of-the-art equipment enables LRMC to perform a wide range of Nuclear and Radiology studies, including advanced cardiac imaging.
- Ultrasound - we perform a variety of ultrasound exams to include but not limited to OB, Vascular, Abdomen, Thyroid, Pelvic, Renal, carotid, arm/leg dopplers. All 3 of our Ultrasound machines are GE machines. Our ultrasound technologists are certified/registered through the ARDMS society.

- Fluoroscopy Nexus Varex R & F room is a fully digital GE and Varex room to provide fluoroscopy procedures and x-rays. This unit is in close proximity to our Emergency Department.
- GE CARMS - we have two GE CARMS that are used at bedside or in the Operating Room for surgical cases.
