Medical-Surgical Unit
Our Medical Surgical Unit provides service to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, as well as patients undergoing general and specialized surgeries. The department is staffed by a Hospitalist, to include Mid-level Providers, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Advanced Nursing Technicians/Patient Care Technicians. There are 23 beds in this department. All rooms are private to enhance the privacy of our patients.
Our full-time Registered Nurses are credentialed in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. All Rns and LPNs working on the unit are required to carry ACLS and PALS certifications.
Liberty Regional Medical Center participates in the “Georgia Hospital Association - Hospital Improvement Innovation Network”, and the “Medicare Beneficiary Quality Improvement Program”.
Swing Bed Program
At Liberty Regional Medical Center (LRMC), we offer a swing bed program for patients that are in need of post-acute therapy care. We offer a variety of therapy services such as physical, occupational and speech therapy services. All Medicare patients are eligible for the swing bed program. As well as some other insurance plans with authorization approval.
Our goal here at LRMC is to provide the best care for our patients and their families so that they have the best chance of success at going home safely.
Benefits of Swing Beds
Patients must have Medicare Part A insurance or a Medicare Advantage Plan to qualify for the Swing Bed Program. Criteria for the swing bed program include:
- A consecutive 3 night Inpatient stay for Straight Medicare prior to admission
- Or prior insurance authorization approval during their acute stay
- In a stable medical condition
- Must require skilled care
- Must need rehabilitation services at least 5 days a week
- Must be able to tolerate in 3 hours of therapy a day and must actively participate
- Physician and care team authorization is needed
